Yesterday Facebook announched the launch of their new app, Camera. Which you can download from the app store for free right now.

After the famous $1Billion purchase of Instagram, I was particularly surprised to find Facebook had launched their own version, which includes features such as edit and apply filters to your photos, share your location and tag your friends.

Personally I am a big fan of Instagram, and will continue to use it on a daily basis. As nice as the Facebook UI is (see screenshots below) I’m not a big fan of change and still prefer the simplicity and extra functionality that Instagram offers.

It will be interesting to see just how many Facebook users will download the app and use it, in my opinion, photos are a great part of social media. I love sharing my day through Instagram and would encourage more to share their photos on a daily basis.
